Asian Community Development Council holds COVID-19 & Flu Vaccine clinic, including pediatric doses for kids 5-11

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Las Vegas (November 18, 2021): The Asian Community Development Council (ACDC) will host an upcoming vaccine clinic on November 19, 2021 from 10AM to 2PM in Shanghai Plaza at 4275 Spring Mountain Road, Unit 207 Las Vegas, NV 89183.

For this clinic, ACDC is partnering with Dr. Christina Madison (Founder of The Public Health Pharmacist), Roseman University’s College of Pharmacy and Southern Nevada Health District.  The following vaccines will be offered:

COVID-19 vaccines:

  • 1st, 2nd or booster doses (Janssen, Pfizer/BioNtech, Moderna)
  • Pediatric doses (Pfizer/BioNtech 5-11 years old)

Flu vaccines:

Vaccinations for both insured & uninsured (19 years old and up)

On Tuesday November 2nd 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) fully endorsed the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendation that children 5 to 11 years old be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer BioNTech pediatric Covid-19 vaccine.

“There are many reasons why children should get the COVID-19 vaccines,” said Dr. Christina Madison. “This includes reducing the risk for possible severe illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths. We have seen this first hand with the spread of the Delta Variant causing a dramatic increase in the rates of pediatric cases and hospitalizations. The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine has been shown to be highly effective at over 90% and safe for children with a lower dose than needed than adolescents & adults. As a mother of 2 young children, this is welcome news. I will be getting my 5 year old vaccinated as soon as it becomes available at his pediatrician’s office in the coming weeks”.
