Las Vegas (September 14th, 2021) The Asian Community Development Council (ACDC) and Leaders in Training (LIT) are joining forces to host “College Readiness Bootcamp” (CRB) at University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Saturday September 18th. Due to the pandemic, this will be the first in-person CRB event since Fall of 2019.

College Readiness Bootcamp is an all-day event aimed at students from 8th to 12th grades with the goal of helping them prepare for life after high school. CRB is FREE to register and is open to both students and their families. The event will feature hands-on and interactive panels and
workshops covering a variety of issues from how to apply for in-state and out-of-state schools to advice on receiving financial aid. First Lady Kathy Sisolak will be part of this year’s event, serving as moderator for the Career Panel.

“We are so excited to bring College Readiness Bootcamp back in-person especially after this past year when we have been apart due to the pandemic,” said Erica Mosca, the Executive Director & Founder of Leaders in Training. “I was the first in my family to go to college so this event is especially close to my heart. The students and families taking part in CRB will be inspired by our speakers and from each other as they get together to plan their future.”

This year, the College Readiness Bootcamp will include a special tour of UNLV and a free meal at the UNLV’s dining hall. Participants will also be able to register to vote and get their COVID-19 vaccinations on site. All COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place for this event.
