ACDC – Asian Community Development Council
Offering Voter Education, Pathway to Citizenship, SNAP Program assistance, and Health Insurance Enrollment.
ACDC sought to increase voter participation among several demographic groups, particularly ones that present historically low voter turnout. These include the AAPI community, youth, newly naturalized Americans, citizens with low English proficiency, and the formerly incarcerated.
ACDC’s Voter Registration team visited specific sites where AANHPIs were predicted to frequent. These sites included ethnic grocery stores, Shanghai Plaza, Chinatown Plaza, local colleges and universities, faith-based community spaces, small businesses, and malls in neighborhoods with a high AAPI population percentage.
Our free citizenship assistance program includes: N-400 completion, legal reviews and fee waiver eligibility.
Formally known as food stamps, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a federal nutrition program that aims to help low-income individuals and families to buy food at authorized retailers.
Through Nevada Health Link, we continued our Health Navigator Program to connect individuals with Qualified Health Plans.
At the ACDC, we have state-licensed Health Navigators who speak different languages and can help facilitate enrollment in qualified health plans.
