“Run for Rice, Walk for Wellness” 5K Event Benefits New Clinic serving API Community in Southern Nevada
Las Vegas (April 6, 2022): To kick off Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, The Asian Community Development Council (ACDC) is holding its first annual “Run for Rice & Walk for Wellness” 5K event on Sunday, May 1st, 2022. This family event will be happening from 8 AM to 1 PM at the CSN Charleston Campus at 6375 West Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas NV 89146.
NEW: Race organizers are now offering a *new* student registration rate of $15.
The “Run for Rice & Walk for Wellness” 5K will raise funds for the opening of the HAPI (Healthy Asian Pacific Islanders) Medical Center and continued food distribution efforts in Southern Nevada. Healthy Asian Pacific Islanders (HAPI) Medical Center is the Asian Community Development Council’s first medical center. 81% of the Asian Pacific Islander population is uninsured or underinsured. HAPI’s mission is to meet the healthcare needs of the API community by providing quality health services and removing language barriers for the underserved, uninsured, and underinsured population in the Las Vegas Valley.
This event will also feature API-owned food vendors, vaccine clinic & a free health fair for all ages.
