THE ASIAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL ANNOUNCES THE ADDITION OF CHARINA DE ASIS AS ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

LAS VEGAS, NV – Today, the Asian Community Development Council (ACDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Charina de Asis as their new Assistant Director for Civic Engagement. 

An immigrant from Cebu, Philippines, Charina joins ACDC with extensive experience in community advocacy and a deep commitment to empowering immigrant and refugee families in Nevada. In this role, she will be responsible for driving ACDC’s civic engagement initiatives, fostering community participation, and advocating for the needs and interests of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the greater Nevada community.

Charina holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree both in International Relations and has previously worked as the Executive Director for the Governor’s Office for New Americans, where she made significant contributions to the inclusion and integration of immigrants and refugees in the State of Nevada.

The Asian Community Development Council (ACDC) is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to building, connecting, and educating the Asian and Pacific Islander community in Nevada. ACDC was officially chartered in 2015 in Las Vegas and opened their Reno location in 2022. ACDC opened the Healthy Asians & Pacific Islanders (HAPI) Medical Center in August 2022.
