The Asian Community Development Council (ACDC) celebrated the grand opening of their ACDC center with a ceremony at 2610 S. Jones Blvd. The ceremony was on Saturday, November 5th, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The commemoration featured a ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize the official launch of the ACDC Center. Over 100 people attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The center will be home to various community programs and projects to engage the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community ranging from civic engagement, youth development (Generasians), and health education (HAAPI Lives). The center strives to provide resources and information to cater to the needs of a growing AAPI community.The ribbon cutting ceremony featured an ethnic wear fashion show, a BMX show featuring Ricardo Laguna, the Happytizers & BBQ food truck, a raffle drawing, Lion Dance and appearances from elected officials including: Congresswoman Dina Titus, State Senator Ruben Kihuen, Assemblywoman Irene Bustamante Adams, Assemblywoman Nelson Araujo, Councilman Bob Beers of Las Vegas, Councilwoman Gerri Schroeder of Henderson, Mayor Protem, Isaac Barron of North Las Vegas, and former Nevada Attorney General, Catherine Cortez-Masto.

Local entities such as Jaguar Land Rover Las Vegas, Mojica Media, Joe Muscaglione, and Happytizers & BBQ sponsored the event.
